The collection consists of correspondence of Francis S. Bartow to his parents, 1835-1861, correspondence of Henry Kollock Rees, 1840-1898, as well as other papers and printed materials about Francis S. Bartow and miscellaneous items. Items are arranged chronologically unless otherwise noted. A later addendum includes a newspaper clipping from the Savannah Daily Morning News, September 27, 1860, of a speech of Francis S. Bartow to the people of Chatham County, Georgia, delivered at Masonic Hall on September 17, 1860.
